L'Unesco sur proposition de l'union Astronomique Internationale à déclaré 2009 année mondiale de l'Astronomie. Cet événement est fêté un peu partout, par divers manifestations scientifiques et culturelles.
L'année 2009, qui correspond au 400éme anniversaire de l'invention du Télescope est aussi le 40éme anniversaire du premier alunissage (1969) qui a permis à l'homme de marcher sur la lune.
En outre, le hasard a fait que cette année, la dixième de la création de notre association (3AM), verra la région de Marrakech se doter d'un centre culturel privé, dont le promoteur désire faire de l'astronomie l'une de ses principales activités. Il a en effet doter ce centre d'un télescope d'un diamètre de 600mm ainsi que d'un sidérostat pour l'observation du soleil.
La dixième édition du festival d'astronomie de Marrakech, organisé par notre association en partenaria avec l'Université Cadi Ayyad, la faculté des sciences Semlalia, l'Academie régionale, l'Institut Français de Marrakech et la participation de plusieurs autres institution, est l'occasion idéale pour fêter tous les évènements sus mentionnés.
Une réception offerte par Mr Omar Hilla, promoteur du centre culturel sera donné en ouverture de ce festival et aura lieu au locaux du nouveau centre , qui sera d'ailleurs inauguré à cette occasion le Samedi 31 octobre 2009 à partir de 16h.
